Using the TTL parameter

Short.io provides a link expiration feature, which can help you to create time-based advertising and marketing campaigns for your customers. The parameter to be used in these cases is expiresAt and can be set in either milliseconds or as an ISO string.

The expiration of the link takes effect immediately, but it does not remove the link itself. Instead, it just allows you to send your customers to the "Link expired page."

In situations where you wish to delete a short link after a designated date and time, we suggest using the TTL parameter, which, again, you can configure in either milliseconds or as an ISO string.

Once the link is deleted, we will also reduce your overall link count. This allows you to tidy up your dashboard and lower your expenses.

Please note, that the TTL parameter should be configured at least one week in advance of the current time for it to function correctly. And unlike expiring links, deleting a link by TTL can be delayed by an hour or two.
